The Kingdom Has Come - Matthew 4:12-25
May 25, 2026 · 43m
In this sermon, Pastor Neil Brewer continues our walk through the Gospel of Matthew, focusing on Matthew 4:12–25. Using powerful stories from his family’s time as missionaries in Iraq during the reign of ISIS in Mosul, Neil paints a vivid picture of what it’s like to live under an oppressive regime—and what happens when liberation arrives.
Just as the people of Mosul had to decide whether to keep living as if their tormentors were still in power, Matthew 4 shows us that Jesus has stepped into occupied territory. A new King has come. The light has broken into the darkness, and the message is going out:
“Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
In this message, you’ll discover:
What it really means that “the kingdom has come”
How Jesus is light in dark places
Why repentance is not bad news, but an announcement of freedom and liberation
If you feel trapped by fear, shame, or old patterns of thinking, this message invites you to come out of hiding and begin walking in the freedom Jesus has already won.
